Dandruff causesDandruff is the peeling of the skin scalp which is observed like some "flakes" on the hair, neck and shoulders. Dandruff is caused by a form of skin condition called eczema, which cause excessive scaling of the scalp of normal cells. Changes in hormonal status and change from one season to another aggravates the pain. Common symptoms are white "flakes", oily or dry hair that can be seen on the shoulders and itching on the scalp. Dandruff causes are multiple and often the problem persists over a long period. However, we have many more chances to get rid of it, trying to find out what cause its occurrence. Dandruff affects mostly people between the ages of 20 and 40 and those over 50 years. Mild dandruff may be caused by overactive sebaceous glands. Dandruff causes include family history, food allergies, excessive sweating, use of alkaline soaps, and stress. Even the season can contribute to the problem. Cold, dry winters are known as dandruf causes or they worsen it. Symptoms of dandruff can also be aggravated by exposure to dust, ultraviolet light, the harsh shampoos and hair dyes. As skin grows, epidermal cells are pushed out eventually die and fall on the body like snowflakes. For most people, these flakes of skin are too small to be visible. However, certain conditions make cells change to be unusually rapid, especially on the scalp. In people with dandruff, skin cells may die and be replaced about once every two weeks otherwise the rate of about a month of healthy people. The results are dead skin cells that look like gray and white patched, unsightly, on the scalp. The main dandruff causes is probably fungus Malassezia furfur (formerly known as Pityrosporum ovale). This fungus is found naturally on the skin surface in both healthy people and those with dandruff. Fungus likes fat, and thus is found most on skin areas with many sebaceous glands: on the scalp, face and upper body. When Malassezia furfur grows too rapidly, the natural renewal of cells is disturbed and dandruff appears with itching. Other fungi and certain bacteria may play a similar role in the production of dandruff. There is such a common misconception that dandruff is caused by dry skin, or the drying effect of excessive shampooing. In fact, the truth is the opposite, people with oily scalp tend to suffer most from dandruff. Factors that can worsen dandruff:
Cells renewal is normal, and occurs about once or twice a month and go unnoticed. But when the concerned person has dandruff, this renewal is much faster, between 8 and 10 days. Dandruff can be presented in two forms. Can be as small dry flakes that disappear after a shampooing, to reappear the next day. Scalp retains normal appearance. There is no irritation. Dandruff can also take the form of scales and then the scalp is red and filled the spots. They are found mostly on the forehead, not on the entire skin surface. This case is chronic and visible, especially during periods of stress. Dandruff causes are many and these include irritant products and stress. To treat the dermatitis you may use a dandruff shampoo but if your scalp is irritated and sensitive, a gentle shampoo is best. Dandruff may be caused by infection with a fungus or other skin conditions. The cause is usually poor blood irrigation of the scalp, because of this deficit to reply to albumin. The skin becomes dry and dandruff appears. Besides, dandruff occurs because of vitamin B6 failure. Often it is the result of allergies or consumption of products that include fat meals, which acts detrimental to the liver, such as milk, yogurt, cheese, fatty red meat. There are specific studies that show that dandruff can occur due to stress. Dandruff is observed in children! Of course, there is no stress, but there are other dandruff causes. Stomach and intestinal disorders may be other causes of dandruff, because they prevent the necessary nutrient absorption to the whole body hair at the same time. In this case, the baby's head appears some white-yellow scales. The best remedy is the massage of the scalp with olive oil, then rinse hair thoroughly with water. How bad are hair solutions? These, whatever their form: gels, fixatives, foam, may represent dandruff causes. Solutions that contribute to hair fixation have an irritating action on the scalp, leading to necrosis of skin cells. Dead cells are removed from the skin and hair appear on the form of dandruff. |
